THE JUMP WITH EDGE GRAB

The basic jump with edge grab is a fun elementary jump on moderately sloped terrain. In Photo 1 the rider approaches the jump bump in a flexed position. The rider extends (Photo 2) and after launch immediately flexes the legs to pull the board near the upper body. At the maximum height attained during the jump, a free hand is placed on the edge to form the edge grab (Photo 3).

After maximum height is reached, remove the hand from the edge of the board and extend in preparation for landing (Photo 4). Photo 5 shows the landing and Figure 6 shows the flexion of the legs for absorption of the landing and preparation for the normal riding stance.
