THE BACK WRAP 180

The back wrap 180, an elementary trick, is worth 60 points. Start from the skiing forward position (Photo 1). Rotate to the open side (counter clockwise looking downward for a left foot forward skier) as shown in Photo 2. Rotate the ski to the 180 degree position with the hands and head still facing the boat (Photo 3). This completes the back wrap 180.

To perform the front simply extend the rope handle away from the body causing rotation to the front (Photo 4). Stop the rotation in the skiing forward position as shown in Photo 5. To perform the reverse pull on the rope and rotate to the closed side which is opposite to the open side position. This is a little tougher since the arms tend to wind up around the body preventing rotation. Keep the rope close to the body to reduce resistance to rotation (Photo 6).

Photo 7 shows the completion of the reverse back wrap 180. To perform the reverse front, simply extend the handle away from the body (Photo 8) and return to the skiing forward position. You score 60 points for the back wrap 180, 60 points for the front and a total of 240 points when counting the reverse.
