THE WAKE SIDE SLIDE

A fun trick to perform on the wakeboard is the wake side slide. First ride the board onto the top of the wake (Photo 1). Then quickly pivot the board into an open stance facing the boat (Photo 2). The reason why this trick is done on top of the wake is to break loose the two fins on the twin tip so you can slide sideways. Adjust the side slide to stay over the wake (Photo 3). Keep the leading edge of the board slightly up to avoid tripping. To return to the forward position, simply shift your weight to the back of the board, the heel fin will engage and swing you around into the forward position.

Keep the knees bent for balance with equal weight on each leg (Photo 4).
