THE SINGLE SKI STEPOVER

To perform the single ski stepover (worth 160 points in competition), kick the rear foot free of the binding and place it alongside the ski foot (Photo 1). Begin the turn by rotating the body and raising the knee (Photo 2). Raise the knee over the rope and continue to pivot into the 180 degree position (Photo 3).

When reaching the 180 degree position, keep the rope close to the ski leg to prevent rotation (Photo 4). You can also let the free foot plane on the water for balance and steering. To get back, lift the free leg and move the rope handle toward the free leg to start the rotation (Photo 5). Once your free leg is back over the rope, place it low in the water to act as a rudder for steering
(Photo 6).

Drag the free foot as needed to align the body for turn completion (Photo 7).
